Fallen London App Reviews

So good

I cant even put this game down. I was quickly sucked into the whole world of fallen London. Now if only they could bring the Sunless Sea to iOS.

It would be great if it worked!

Great concept and writing. I cant wait for an update, because currently the app is unplayable. This is whats happening: -You select a story (like the early courier job) -Make a choice, loose the usual 1 action point -When you come to select your onwards, you get thrown back to the storys main page I have done it 3 times, seceded all times. lost 3 action points but never managed to get the onward options to continue the courier job story. It happened with other stories in Spite St. Sometimes it works other times you get thrown back to the 1st main question, but all your used action points are gone. If this, as well as other bugs, will not be fixed, Im worry this app will quickly end up being neglected. Sadly, if it was functioning, it would be a greatly rated app.

Wheesh!

This game is adorable! And so much fun!

Amazing game

Love the concept of this game. It has alot of great ideas. It looks very beautiful. ThereMs some bugs here and there but nothing major. Love it.

A really great game

This game is by far one of the best games I have ever played. Although the energy system can get a little frustrating at times, it doesnt take as long as people say it does to get energy.

Definitely try this game

Though I rarely write reviews, this game is deserving of more stars than it has. It has done something quite difficult in presenting a game unlike so many others that are available. This is an open sand-box game with multiple quest lines to pursue, all affecting character development in small ways, and sometimes not so small. Make choices at every turn to advance and you may acquire the characteristic of subtlety. Choose force and you may become dreaded by your foes. Through it all, a richly detailed world is revealed, though it is apparent it is vaster than it first seems. More choices open some doors but close others. Premium content is available, but the game is quite playable without dumping money in, though you may be tempted to do so just to support the developers. Its clear the game is evolving and the developers are listening. For those that enjoy a good story, that look for the character development in role-playing games, this is it. Rarely do I feel forced into a specific path or response. An excellent game and well worth downloading to try it out for free. Then toss the Devs a couple bucks as a thank you for making a great game.

Great game, but the app needs work

The game itself is wonderful- Ive been a player for years. The app is a good start, but the content updates at launch take a very long time, and the concept of having to sync your character instead of it all being updated live is odd, and has lead to some lost progress. Still, a good game. Hopefully the app will improve.

Extremely fun

I cant stop playing

Only a few minor fixes

-the opening load time is Hella long. Is it really necessary to look for updates every time you open the app? -when I go to look at another players profile, the app crashes. -my friends, please double the rate that action points are restored. I know that you want my money, but ten minutes is an excessive amount of time to wait just to perform a single action that may or may not be successful That said, the game itself is marvelous! Hilarious and complex, its a wild adventure.

Great game but a few problems

I love the game its great its also really fun but two things first off a big problem for me I close the game then I get back on and it wont load then I have to delete the game the download it again then do that again every time I want to play next thing is the energy the problem I have with energy is I find a game I really like then I can only play it for a few minutes then have to wait like one or two hours.

Waiting for "energy" is annoying.

Let me first say that I really am enjoying the game. The only thing that bothers me is the "energy" timer. Im not a fan of micro transactions (and I know they arent unique to this game) and I feel as though the experience would be much more enjoyable without that feature.

Could be delicious...

The app load times are ridiculous. There is no reason it should take as long as it does to download very simple text and art assets. Some sort of tutorial even one to show how the system works would be nice

Loading, The Game

Sat in loading screen for 2 min. Then deleted it. Nice music though!

So fun !!!

This game has good story and fun to play. I play it everyday.

Excellent Narrative

This game is an amazing living novel with you as the star, but unlike other "choose your adventure" titles that are anything but, this game is very open ended and built upon hundreds of your inputed narrative keys, really making it more of a sand box game than any other in the vein. A deeply rewarding game.

Awesome

This game is such a valuable one to try. Love playing and reading. Most interesting game play to discover and have fun. Yes Addicted

Great Game, Bad App

Fallen London has recently been my newest obsession, and I can fully recommend it for people who want something with a bit more substance (and Victorian manners) to play instead of simplistic mobile games. However, this app has abysmal loading times (why does it need to store so many files locally instead of using an API), erases your progress if you dont remember to sync before closing (something the browser version can do automatically), and has a tendency to be unwilling to work with progress on the desktop version, forcing you to either delete the app or revert progress to wherever you last were on the app. My advice is stick to the browser version if at all possible until they can make this usable.

Love it

Just love this game. Really great app with nice graphic and most interesting game play

5 star game, 1 star app

Update: I was able to play for a few days after the latest patch, although getting persistent frozen screen during synch about 25% of the time. Suddenly today the app has stopped working entirely (black screen after the Failbetter logo). The app itself deserves 1 star because it simply is not stable and now doesnt even work for me, but the browser game is 5 star and I have faith the devs will eventually fix the app (so I am leaving this review as 5 star for now). Review: The game is great if you set your expectations to play for perhaps 10 minutes every couple of hours (there is a timer that limits how many actions you can take at once). Months of content can be enjoyed free of charge. VERY clever and interesting writing, its got a great Victorian steampunk/Lovecraftian vibe. The only downside is I want to spend more time in this world, but run up against the timer so quickly and have to put the game down for a few hours.

Looked promising...

Waited through an extremely long load, only to find I had to register in order to play. Since I wont do that for no particular reason, deleted game. Will retry if/when registration becomes optional.
