Fallen London App Reviews

Looks cool, BUT......

The concept is really cool and the artwork is really great. However, are no instructions, backstory or hints. You pretty much have to figure it out as you go along. The opening sequence is too long and the energy "cards" are ridiculously slow to re-load. One card every three minutes? And no way to get extras except to pay.

It somehow misses the flavor of the browser game

I played the browser version for some time last year & felt it to be an interesting idea cleverly implemented. The iPad app somehow muddies that cleverness. Perhaps its the annoyingly long load times or the rather clumsy interface. Mayhaps it will improve.

Lost items

Its a fun game but it keeps crashing and I loose items or opportunity cards. I lost a rare a raggedy creature card :(

Interesting

This game demands that you take time, slow down and read the stories. Actually read it. (Reading...I know!) Its not terribly intuitive, so takes a bit to figure out, but its interesting when you actually get involved in the stories. Give it a try and see if you like it.

Great game, bad updates

Why do I have to wait five minutes for game to boot? It has to check for sound updates and image updates. Just push these through the app store when there are updates. Another problem is that if you dont manually close the game, it doesnt count time away towards your energy points coming back. So after a few hours away, youll still be at zero.

The best

Now that theyve added a manual sync I can recommend this without any reservations. Beautiful, dark, hilarious, and just gets subtler and more interesting the more you play. One word of advice (aside from being careful around mirrors); dont play this like an RPG to be beaten. Think of it like a giant, sprawling book with a scaffolding of RPG around it. Or however you think of it, just dont forget to *read*

Took A Bit

Alright, so either the tutorial is weak or I missed it. So the top right compass is how you access the map and travel to other areas. Opportunities are great, and deal with your nightmares. Stay delicious.

Stellar Writing

One doesnt generally recommend a game for its writing, but this game has proven to be a much welcome exception in that area. If you want to enjoy this game to the fullest, you must read every single piece of flavor text it gives you. Every paragraph somehow left me simultaneously laughing aloud and slightly unnerved. Not to mention the incredibly rich world it creates. I consider myself a difficult to impress individual who is obsessed with the art of building a fictional world to an almost unhealthy degree, and even I was flabbergasted by the wonderful world of the Neath.

Fantastic concept, flawed execution

From what I have been able to play of this game, I can absolutely say that it is awesome. Unfortunately, I havent been able to play that much because loading the game frequently takes so long that it seems like the game is just stuck on the loading screen. I have had the same issue occasionally when the game auto-syncs my character after I use all my available actions. If/when this issue is fixed and I can actually play the game more, I will happily change my rating to 5 stars.

Was really awesome until

I played the game a lot but now I cant get past the grey screen after the Failbetter logo pops up

Interesting

very interesting gameplay. I still havent quite gotten the hang of it and some things are a little confusing, but Im enjoying my experience nonetheless. Its very open and full of choices. There are a few things that could be improved on, gameplay wise and bug wise, but I think it has some nice personality and atmosphere.

Broken?

I wanted to like this because I remember the browser game fondly. Unfortunately it gave me an error when trying to create a login using my Google account and now wont let me log in.

Consistently crashing and failure to load

Game is now consistently crashing whenever I try to make a decision was good until then

absolutely amazing

I could veil a huge mystery in this game. its totally amazing with this game story. It is worth a try for who love reading

Awesome

This app has me hooked!! Its one of those games where you have the power to decide whats next. Interesting storyline but think before making a choice because every choice has a consequence. If you love strategic games then youll enjoy this!!

Meh

Linear, confusing, slow, overly verbose, dull. Who told the dev this game was even passingly interesting? They lied to you, hon. I paid in a little, just in case that might help. Nah. This game shall die a well-deserved death.

Really original!

I usually dont like creating a login/profile, but this is worth it! The game takes you to a Victorian gothic underworld, where your actions determine your course. Really fun role playing game and so different from anything else!

Broken app

This game would be really great if the app wasnt broken. When i first started playing i almost quit immediately because of the 3 min loading screen every time you want to play. Now all i get is a black screen when trying to login. I hope the devos fix this app, because i really enjoyed what i was able to play of it.

Nice game

So nice game. Its amazing category of games like literature rpg. Amazing gameplay. Recommend to download. Cool and fun.

Serious potential, but broken :(

This game seems seriously wicked fun, like its almost a crime to play this game for free. Unfortunately however, I was only able to play the game for a day or two until the app would no longer load. The FailBetter Games logo loads and then I get a blank screen. I cant find any information on how to fix this and I will change my review if the app gets fixed!
